I Heart Josh Groban

Going through my CD's tonight, I stumbled across this little number. It made me cry the first time I heard it. I didn't have any clue what he was singing about, but it made me cry. The violins, the emotion in his voice...it made my chest seize and the tears flow. I dare you to keep your cool.

If you don't have this CD, go, now. Get it.

I know and love this song by Josh Groban. Lucia Micarelli is the superb violinist who is part of the Groband. I forget what Mi Mancherai means but I do know it means that someone is special to someone else. It is a beautiful and moving piece. So glad you posted that it moved you emotionally too.

Jerusha,

I still get all choked up when I hear it. The violinist is SUPERB. Gah, it's beautiful. And I think Mi Mancherai means "I'll miss you" or "I'm missing you." Something like that.

Thanks for posting!

I was lucky enough to see Josh (and that particular violinist) live in concert last year. My daughter bought me tickets for Christmas. I dragged my unwilling husband with me, but he was completely won over. If you haven't seen the movie IL POSTINO, you should do yourself a favour and rent it some weekend. Pam

Here are the translated lyrics:

I'll Miss You (Mi Mancherai)

I’ll miss you, if you go away
I’ll miss your serenity
Your words like songs in the wind
And Love, that you take away.

I’ll miss you, if you go away
Now and forever I don’know how to live
And joy, my friend, goes away with you

I’ll miss you, I’ll miss you, because you go away
Because the love in you is dead
Because, because...
Nothing it’s gonna change, I know
And inside of me I feel you

I’ll miss you, I’ll miss you, because you go away
Because the love in you is dead
Because, because...
Nothing it’s gonna change, I know
And inside of me I feel you

I’ll miss the immensity
Of our days and nights,us together
Your smiles when it’s getting dark
Your being naive like a little girl

I’ll miss you, my love
I look at myself and I find emptiness inside of me
And joy, my friend, goes away with you

Pam,

Thanks for dropping in! What a great daughter you have. :) I tried to get tickets to him a couple of years back and failed. I was so bummed out! Glad your husband liked Josh--honestly, I can't imagine anyone NOT likely Josh. :)

Thanks for the lyrics and movie suggestion... I'll definitely put it on my netflix.
